Motorola V710
How do I get mp3 files to my TF to show up on V710?
Any help please. Thanks.

When I access my TF on my PC, I see a Moto file with about 9 sub files. I've tried the obvious and still can't get the files to show up on the phone(V710). I've looked under media gallery and have switched storage devices to TF. I'm just moving standard mp3 files at 128bit. Do I need some special program or what? Do the files need some diff ext or format? The phone is listed as a mp3 player!
Any help please. Thanks.
They need to go into the following directory:
/motorola/shared/sounds
It seems when the phone formats the tf card it does not create this directory. You may need to create it yourself.

(Make sure that you are looking at the trans flash memory)If you're not sure scroll down to 'Switch Storage Device' and take a look at what's selected. It might not show up on the screen so keep on scrolling until you see it.
Select the sound that you want to transfer, and then press the center 'MENU' button.
Scroll down to 'MOVE' and select it. You're tune will be moved to the phone memory.
Now - if I haven't missed anything - you should be able to acces the file as a ringtone.

I forgot that the new Verizon flash eliminates the move command. 🤠😢
It does??
Then why the heck would anybody flash their phone with it?

Verizon has been sued in California on a class action basis for restricting access to file transfer via Bluetooth while advertising the opposite. Bottom line, they are keeping a closed system to protect their Get It Now developers. If you can't transfer in ringtones from your TF, you have to buy them from a GIN supplier. Supposedly...

Well, I got news for them -- I have not and will not use GIN. I'd rather eat rocks and die than use it.

Try Cingular if you have coverage in the critical places like home. Unfortunately, I don't; only Verizon and Nextel work.

*sigh*
I've been with Verizon since '98 (actually it was Airtouch Cellular in those days), and except for this nonsense, I actually like them. Great coverage, no matter where I go.
I'd like to pressure them into changing their policy. If everyone flat refused to use GIN, it would wither on the vine.
