we talking pics of a tiedye shirt or of the side of a barn? 🙂 I'm gonan venture a guess at 20 "normal" pictures at the highest quality setting... in theory its a 1.2MP camera, so raw its like 1296Kbyte but with jpeg compression they average 100K or less...

Taking a 1.2MP picture only makes a difference if you are going to transfer them to a computer. Otherwise, the better quality doesn't make a difference. Currently, the only way to transfer pics to a computer is to use a transflash card (which in turn provides more memory).
Thus, if you have a transflash card, you will be able to store a lot of high res pics. If you don't, you can take them at a lower quality and you will be able to store more pictures.
