yes cdma is the best, but let's be patient with gsm. Its a matter a building a larger gsm network across the country, before CDMA is obsolete. The advantage of gsm is that you can take your gsm handset oversees (assuming it's unlocked and has the 900/1800 frequency). If CDMA is here to stay, then yeah it has to step up with sleeker looking phones. Its safe to say that a lot of uneducated consumers choose their wireless provider based on the carrier's phone selection. Verizon has to make some calls!!

how did this forum turn into "which service is better"? i thought it was about the v80...speaking of carrier though, will it be tmobile? any thoughts?

If the V80 is US bound, it looks as though it goes to Tmobile. If it were going to cingular it would have the 800 bandwidth and not the 900.

thats not correct, Tmobile AT&T and Cingular all use 850/800 and 1900 mHz frequencies (Mainly 850 tecnology which became available only in spring 2003). Those are the feq used in North America, in Europe, Asia Pacific etc they use 900 and 1800 mHz feq. 😁
