Hi, i was wondering if there is a size limit to the mp3 ringtones that can be used on the 6620. I have created some 20 second or so ringers using iTunes to convert small segments of my music files to mp3 then used Nokias PC suite to bluetooth them over to the phone. When i try to set one as a ringer it says it cannot do it b/c file format is not accepted. I am not sure why this is telling me that the file format is not accepted b/c im sure that the music tones through cingular are in mp3 format. The size of my ringers are around 100-300kb.

Its not the size of the mp3 that is your problem. You have the software version that will not allow mp3's as ringtones.

The problem is, its the NEW software that disallows it. The old software works fine. I think it may be something Cingular did, so maybe you would have to buy the ringtones from them.

god that is messed up. That was one of the problems that i wanted to get away from w/ verizon. Sure you can try to be yourself or whatever w/ a tone, but it'll cost you a good 2.50 to get a good music tone. Why can't these wireless companies just let us use these phones to their full extent. JESUS H CHRIST!

Well I am not definitively saying its Cingular. Just a guess. I have the first software edition so i use my own complete songs as my ring tones.

ya. I called cingular and were no help. I had a girl talk to me and she had not a clue of what i was talking about. I wish she wasn't a moron and gave me some good advice b/c i cannot for the life of me figure this one out.

Why don't you want to convert your mp3s to awb format with Nokia Multimedia converter? Works just fine for me - converts in seconds, files are small, sounds "almost" as good.

I recommend this as well. I found this program by accident. It will change your mp3 into a nokia compatable format. It's somewhere in the nokia developer forums. You just have to sign up for the forums dl it.

It is a separate program, not included in PC Suite, you do have to go through the developers forum to get it.
I found that program t be the best for converting sound files, for movies, however, SmartMovie's quality and speed of conversion is much better.
