In the phone menu, in the connect folder I can activate infrared connectivity on the 6620. The diagram says the IR port is on the right side of the phone. On my PC (windows 9😎 I have Infrared Monitor active and set to search for IR devices in range. I also have a Virtual IR COM port (whatever that is) on my computer. So my questions are:

1. can i send data from my PC to my 6620 via infrared?
2. where do i point my phone IR port to, since I have no idea what a "Virtual IR COM Port" looks like on my PC?
3. can you give me any further info since i'm basically a tech newbie?

Thanks!

I don't have a PC with IR, but I've used the IR port on my 6620 to share files with various Palm Pilots.

A "virtual IR COM port" is the term for assigning a "COMx:" designation to the IR port. Windows likes to treat IR as a special device for sharing pictures and the like, but comm programs want to talk to (what they think is) a serial port. Thus the virtual driver.
