I recently got a V400, but am having trouble putting on a banner that has my name so i can identify the phone. Is this not possible? Any help would be great, thanks!

There are a few possibilities.
First, go to Personalize in Settings, and you can change the greeting (which shows whenever the phone is powered on) to your name. Probably not good enough.
You could also modify a wallpaper or screensaver JPG or GIF to have your name on it (using Photoshop or whatever).

As I mentioned before, this site is a great compilation of pretty much all known hacks you can apply to a VXXX phone. You will of course need a data cable, P2KMan installed, and a hex editor.

The site actually covers both of these possibilities. Scroll down his page until you get to "Special Cases" a fair ways down. Under that, the first is "Custom Outer LCD Text" which explains how to change that. The second is under "Date/GPRS Display Under Carrier Name", where it mentions changing it to your own custom text.
