hey i bought the motorola V400 recently and was told i could use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) on it, have my buddy list, message, the whole deal. it doesnt come pre-loaded and it isnt available to download from the cingular site, or directly from the phone. my sister has the identical V300 through T-Mobile and has it, i tried aim.com but nothing was there about my phone. is there anything i can do or a place i can go to get it? i have the messages forwarded to my phone, but its not the same. thanks for ur help

I do not believe Cingular supports AIM on the Vxxx phones. You can always IM your phone from Instant Messenger and then respond back and forth (depending on your plan, this usually costs 10 cents a message).

As FETNU said Cingular may not support AIM at all. You could always try by activating the AIM menu (could put it instead of the useless SIM Applications menu) and then tinkering with it.

This requries editing phone config files. See http://www.xlr8.us/hofo/ for more details.
