Hello 😁

I'm about to buy this phone from someone who says she can get it for me at a "great price" of $280.00, I already have a contract with cingular, so I want to know what is the price for the phone itself without having to sign a contract, does anyone know? if I buy the phone at $280.00 brand new with a car charger, battery, regular charger, is that a "great deal"? please let me know asap. thanks!!! 😉

-Dani 🙂

hey dani, I think you'd be better off going to a Best Buy near you. You could probably get it for a good amount cheaper, althougth $280 is around what it's supposed to cost no-contract.

The suggested retail price of the phone is $299.99 (i.e. without a contract). I don't know why you would think Best Buy would have it less than $280? In fact doesn't Best Buy mark UP prices if you're buying without a contract? (at least where I live they do!)

well i hate to brag but by friend at Best Buy hooked me up with the v400 for $149. She "accidentally" told the computer i was a new customer. i almost pissed my pants when she told me the total. i feel like i virtually stole this phone seeing that they're goin for around $300-$350 on ebay. The moral of the story is this, me nice with to the wireless employees at BB and you might get lucky.

149.99 is the normal price at BestBuy with a 1/year contract or an upgrade. Here is the BestBuy post a little ways down that I posted the other day.

v400 at Best Buy is only 149.99 w/ 1 year commitment.

There is a Best Buy rebate of $50.00.

There is also a Cingular rebate that you can download from their site for $50.00.

I just bought two v400's with 1 year commitment on each and it is going to cost me a total of $100.00 + tax.

Gotta love it.

see thats where it gets complicated. i've only been with cingular for about a month and i already have a 6340i which uses TDMA service, because i travel to west texas alot and that's the only plan that works just about everywhere in texas. so i got the v400 and i just switch the sim card from phone to phone. that's what sucks about cingular, t-mobile etc.. charging so much for phones when you don't sign a contract. but that's a hell of a deal on 2 v400's. i love best buy!!

I was told that the $50 Bestbuy rebate only applies if you are a new Cingular customer. If you are doing an upgrade, you do not get the Best Buy rebate. Nevertheless, it is still a great deal, I believe you still qualify for the Cingular $50 rebate.
