Just purchased this phone and the manual is terrible, I can't get the voice record feature to work, i can only record a voice meesage when i am in the office tools/voice record. it appears to record the message, but when you play it back you here nothing, it shows it is playing back on the screen but no volume comes out and it even shows the volume is on 7.

the manual also states to go to motorola.com/consumer/manuals and you can download a MORE HERE refernce guide for the phone but they only have the manual that came with the phone on the site.

How's It going,

I work for cingular and can help you out with all of these issues.

1) the easy way to do a voice record is to press and hold the voice key (the button on the right side of the phone when you are looking at it). Make sure that you keep the button held while you are recording what you want to record.

2) make sure that you have wireless internet express service activated on your account. I don't know which market you are in but most of them offer this as a pay per use (you only get charged for it when you log on, rather than have a monthly charge). you need this to be able to go on the internet and download ringtones. yes, it is possible to transfer those images to the phone. There are 2 things that you need- a Motorola data cable that will work with the v400 and you will also need software that motorola makes called "mobile phone tools". it allows you to sync your pc with your cell and transfer any media that you like to your cell. it also allows you to use your cell as a wireless modem for you laptop. any questions hit up the cingular rep who knows his stuff. thanks

Hey, you can send your photos to your phone through WWW.MyPhoneFiles.Com They allow you to upload .5 Megas of data at a time and you can send it to your phone. When you receive the text message, just press the menu button and go to "Go To" and it should download. That works fine and it is free, just sign up on myphonefiles and you good to go.
