I don't own a Motorola V400 yet, but i'm planning on purchasing one soon. but from the reviews that i've read, i'm hestitant to buy it now because of the battery life and the ringers. how would you compare the ringer volume to any other phones that you've owned? your help is greatly appreciated. Should i buy or hold off.

Well, I have limited experience with ringtones, and some of the on-board ringtones are way loud. BUT I ordered the James bond theme, and the Peter Gunn theme, and as I said in my review, there is no way one could hear them in the babble of a crowd, or in my pocket...I would reccomend you go to a dealer, insist on hearing a downloaded ring tone and check it out...Any other comments from 400 owners on low volumes??

i was wondering how the ringtones would be on the v400, when i had a t720, the ringtones were the exact same way...i knew that there had to be something bad about this phone...

Ya, it looks like the volume of the ringtones are a bit low just like my T720 😢 and why can't Motorola make a phone that will vibrate AT THE SAME TIME as ringing? 😡

Other than those couple of things the phone is TOP NOTCH!

If you really want a decent-good phone with relatively loud ringing try the Nokia 6200. Nokia seems to have nailed the polyphonic ring volume, can hear my friends phone pretty much anytime.

this phone can vibe and ring at the same time and also the tones are loud. The stock tones it comes with are pretty loud, make sure the ringer volume is all the way up, u have to use the arrow keys on the side of the phone to adjust it, i put it on the MAX (7) and had it in my pocket at school today and when it rang pretty much everyone within 10 feet of me heard it. So i gets a good rating of loudless from me but it also depends on the rington also

This is a follow up now that i've had the V400 for a week now ... I found that the MP3 tones are generally better volume wise. Plus if you know how to edit/convert WAV's and MP3's than you can make it even louder.
And to the guy who said that the V400 DOES vib & ring at the same time, wrong, I was hoping that Motorola would finally get it right on their newer phones but nope 😢 Oh well, the phone is awesome otherwise so I'm overall a happy camper. 😁

That's great Columbo but did you actually scroll down to "vibe & ring" and select and try it out? I didn't think so. Ever since I got my first Motorola phone about 3-4 years ago I never understood why the heck Motorola couldn't make their phones ring WHILE it's vibrating, and they STILL don't 😡 Oh well.

(p.s. I'm not trying to be a d!#k or anything but I see so much disinformation on forum & newsgroup posts)
