The guy at the only Cingular store in my area in Queens, NY.

He said the orders were placed and they should be receving shipment in 1-2 days.

But you know what? FU*K Cingular AND fu*k motorola for being so damn slow and unorganized with producing and shipping phones. If theres a delay, give yoursevles some time, don't just say its delayed and then not say anything new for a couple of months. Is it THAT hard to put an update on your CORPORATE website saying how progress is going? Even now, when the imminent release of the v400 is due, Cingular should be INFORMING its customers of the release plan...if not all stores are gonna get it, admit that it's a limited release and you MAY not get it at your store, just be honest with us and sto...

I concur!!
I wrote in an earlier post that I traveled to several Cingular outlets and received several different stories...this is all true.

It isn't really the stores fault, it is the corporate organization. The sales people can only tell you what they know. With the upcoming merger of Cingular and T-Mobile, and related possible mergers in the industry, competition may actually de-crease. (Who thinks that this will HELP with accountability?? Not me.)

Well....I'm sticking with 'em for now. Maybe they will learn from these issues??

Any Wagers?

Yeah...definitely can't hold the stores faults...typical beauracracy, the people that CAN make a slight difference(even making simple announcements and/or product release patterns) aren't going to and don't give a damn.

I've been holding this damn money for so long and it's starting to piss me off...i WANT to give my money to them but they won't let me. ironic

Yup....same here!! I've been waiting for this phone for about 2 months. ALMOST bought one on EBay, but I;m not shrewd enough in this area to "go it alone".

I;ve been checking the Motorola and Cingular websites consistently, and you are right, absolutly NO news! The only incling I;ve been able to get from them, is the fact that they removed the "Coming Soon" banner from the Motorola V400 Faq page....which by the way you can't find very easily.

Whew....all this bitching makes me tired!! I just hope this damn phone is worth it!!

(Kinda pissed that it doesn't have removable covers..oh well)

PS: Done screaming for now...heh heh.

Guy's, the only reason we couldn't but as release date on the v400 is because Motorola was having so many problems. Their CEO stepped down, they had problems with their suppliers. These are the accuses we got from them. We can't put a launch date on something when we don't know when we'll get it. It was supposed to be here right after Thanksgiving, that's why it was on our Christmas rebate form. So, if you're looking to place blame, look to the manufacturer, not the provider.

I'm just curious, what position are you in the Cingular empire? And from what many of us have heard as fact, the V400 is in fact in the warehouses and orders have been placed.

And we(I) were not directly placing blame upon you(Cingular, if you do in fact represent them in any way) but I was blaming you for the lack of information, if you're having trouble distributing because of "problems" with Motorola, tell your customers. I'm sure not even that many even care or know about the v400 but there are more than a few who have been waiting for months. Is it that hard to announce the progress of an item? No

And to be honest, I haven't heard ONE thing about the delays and proposed "release date" about the v400 from Cingular. Good job adv...

I work at a retail company owned store, but i also know a lot about the industry. I got emails from my product manager about the delays on the v400.

1)Cingular is very good about not advertising a product that they don't have yet. we can't sell it if we don't have it, so why advertise for it?

2)The phones only showed up in the warehouse yesterday. Orders were placed earlier, but they phone wasn't there until Dec. 30th.

3)The info that reps know about the phones directly reflects their interest in their job. The info is out there and not hard to find. We have many internal websites that inform us of all types of info on upcoming events. If they choose not to read it, they don't care about their job.

3) Yeah, what the reps know, directly reflects their interest in their job.

But we're not talking about the reps here...you guys are pretty much in the same boat as us the customers, because half the time we find out little bits and pieces before you do, but then again, that's not the point.

1) The point of advertising before a product is released is to create hype. Which is what Motorola is doing with the v600. Have you ever seen a movie trailer? Have you ever seen a new car commercial? Those products aren't released yet, but they're right around the corner. You're right, Cingular didn't market ****, but not for the reasons you've cited.

The bottom line is, we shouldn't have to go to all these differnet websites, reading thi...

The website is how you are informed. With a company as large as Cingular, that is the best we. Motorola has been advertising the v600 for a longtime, they have also did the same thing with the v300, and the v500. But that is the manufacturer. You didn't see Verizon advertising the vx6000 before they had it or Sprint the vga1000 before they had it. Car commercials, movie trailers, these are all made for a product that is from the company that made the product. Not a service provider.
