Since the V400 has been out for a while have most of the known issues been corrected in the newest software releases? For example, thanks to you and brettflan I hacked mine for MUCH better (louder) earpiece volume, if I bought a brand new V400 today would I still need to hack it for better volume or was that just an issue on early releases of the v400? thanks...

As far as I know, the volume is with all the vXXX phones. So yes, you would still need to hack it to fix the volume problem.

Yep, even though they've been out for a while and Motorola has fixed a few of the issues, that's one they haven't addressed yet as far as I know. So as FETNU says you'd still need to hack the earpiece volume if you got a new or replacement VXXX phone now.

For what it's worth, I got a V400 from Cingular 2 days ago and the 0D offset in gain_table.bin was 02 instead of 01...

Not sure if this was a Moto setting or a Cingular setting...

I bumped it to 05 anyway... :-)

Hmm, looks like they made a slight improvement over the original setting anyway. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, still nowhere near enough of an improvement on their part, but maybe they'll eventually catch on. ;-)
