Is there a new phone out there that verizon has that beats this one? Mine is starting to break down after two years of hard use ( the mobile web has quit), and I would like to replace it, however I can't find a better phone. thanks, steve

the moto v325 has gotten excellent reviews, other than that I would prolly say there isnt anything. you would prolly be better off looking on ebay for a used one. Heck I might even sell you mine, its pretty new and works fantastic. I am prolly gonna wait and see what vzn releases for the summer.

Yeah, the v 325 looks cool, but the display is tiny in comparison. I can get a new re-manufactured 9900 according to my verizon rep, but I was hoping for something better. Thanks for the info, Steve.

just go to verizon, i was there yesterday and they said 150+ CDM9900's in storage. You'll have to pay the $50 out of warranty fee or complain and get it reduced (i paid $25). good luck

Mine is breaking down also. The weak point is the hinge. Same problem with the CDM-9500 also. And as you said, can't find a phone you like ant the moment, that is my situation too. I will ask Verizon for the same deal, as even if I get a "new every two" phone, a refreshed CDM-9900 would make a great spare back up phone. I wish Toshiba still was in the business of phones because they made a great platform. 🙄

good luck, worse case you'll have to pay $50 which still isnt bad (i only paid $50 when the phone was new 2 years ago - which was free after the NE2)

Yea, the CDM-9900 was a late, very late. Which I am convinced is why it was so cheap. It was only around about two months and bamn it was discontinued by Christmas of 2004. Remember how we waited for months on this forum for this phone to show up. Disappointed at every rumor, and hungry for any news. I never got that way about another phone ever since. The whole thing wore me out. Now I patiently await the LG-VX 9900. But at age 53 I don't give a damn about music and MP3 players sticking out of my ear. Late as it was the CDM-9900 was a great phone.
