WILL 2gb's of RAM make homescreen icons & folders
reload faster after pressing the home button?

This is sooo rare that those of us in the U.S.
actually getting an improvement in specs compared
to Europe!!!

Who cares about quad-core, there have been plenty
of YouTube vids proving the S4 is just as capable
as the quad-core, the S4 processor can even handle
Tegra 3 games, with ease.

Word has it that 1GB of the RAM will be reserved for the TouchWiz UI. So the phone basically only has 1GB of usable RAM, which should be more than enough.

So Samsung is putting effort into keeping the S3
running smooth.

So is there any chance more RAM will result in
honester icons & folders will display faster when pressing the home button?

It's extremely frustrating pressing the home button and waiting for all these application icons to

I've never seen the problem you're describing. I think you need to do a factory reset on your phone because it seems to be malfunctioning.

There is no malfunction.

Old android devices that have a small amount of ram did not have enough memory to keep all of that information active. So it had to clear out all of the available memory to make use of certain apps.

When the app is closed, the homescreens or application screens may appear blank becuase the phone has to reload that information back into it's memory. This is not a malfunction, and is completly normal.

When you say older Android devices, does the
Droid Charge count as "older"?

Also, how much RAM us necessary to press the home button and all the icons, apps, and folders will always be there, and accessible?

To have the UI in it's own 1gb of ram, and still have 1gb free is awesumo.....It should be VERY fast at scrolling, hitting the home button and getting near instant reactions. Can't wait to get this thing! Very Happy
