So far everyone loves the maxx and I'm on the fence...i love all the positives except one....taking good photos and video is important in comparison to what is now available on mobile phones now, and I've heard some reviews state pics are muted in color and not very sharp on the maxx.

How is the camera if you own the maxx?

Also, if camera isn't very good, should I wait for the iPhone 5?

I have had my Maxx for a few moths and the camera works great for me. The pictures are crisp and clear. Opening the camera from the lock screen works great for the spur of the moment photos. For a phone camera I dont think you can go wrong.

So I had the Razr for about 6 months and have now switched to the Maxx for a few weeks. For a brief minute I considered looking into the Galaxy Nexus or the (sigh) iPhone for the same reason

If you a small step back there is a bigger picture with the phones. Even if the camera is not quite as good, it still has a functional tolerable camera - and the other specs put it over the top.

I will also eagerly await the landing of the iPhone 5. I'm curious to see what they pack into it... but we...

When I had the Motorola RAZR smartphone, I loved it, except for the camera. I compared it with other RAZR phones, and the quality was poor on every one.

Compared that to a Samsung, and I was surprised at what I was missing. Then I compared that to an iPhone 4S, and I nearly fell off my chair!

The iPhone 5 will have an amazing camera. If it's excellent camera performance you want in an easy to use, modern smartphone, wait for the iPhone 5.

Or, if you want the end-all-be-all cameraphone of cameraphones, get the Nokia 808 Pureview. 🤤 🤤

It puts point and shoot cameras to shame.
