On Monday I'm signing up for Nextel because of the service but primarily for this phone.

Neat to be the first to post in this forum.

🤣
The release will be delayed... Nextel has no idea what is going on with the manufacturing from Motorola. Don't jump on the subscription until you actually see it released. More importantly, if it does get released before the End of November, they will run out quickly. Some parts on this product are on back order. Oh... on another note... Nextel has no interest in adding photo phones to its lineup anytime soon...
Good luck....

THE PHONE IS INDEED OUT. I ORDERED MINE THIS MORNING BY CALLING NEXTEL. THE PHONE IS 299.99 IF YOU COMMIT TO A 2 YEAR AGREEMENT, 349.99 FOR A 1 YEAR AGREEMENT. IT WILL PROBABLY BE BETTER TO CALL NEXTEL TO ORDER THE PHONE BECAUSE ALL OF NEXTEL STORES ONLY HAVE ABOUT 5 OR 6 PHONES IN STOCK. I WILL HAVE MINE TOMORROW!

"No you do not want this phone the display is to small no status light and still the same stupid browser that does not even uses the phones color screens full potential."

The display is the size of the i90 because it replaces the i90 not the i95.. the i95 replacment will have a larger screen. The browser can still be updated from iden update, so its not like thats the only browseer you will ever have on the phone, it will change in the future. Also the ability to use .wav ringers is awsome for a nextel phone and having the ringer profiles among other things! the phone is great and is a BIG improvment over the i95 in EVERY way except for the status light. Now instead of looking at the light you actually have to look at the caller ID screen...

This Nextel phone is actually very nice and I do recommend it to any new or current nextel subscribers,, i live in mass, near boston and have great reception no matter where i am, whether its downtown boston, or in western mass near amherst or in my basement, im not sure where all you people are located to have such bad signal strength, but for your information,, regardless what company you have, if you live in the boon dockes or in a forest your not going to be able to use a cell phone without many complaints,, so get over it,, thats the way the cell phone industry works, to get service you need to be in a reasonable area,, trust me when i say verizon isnt as great as you all think it is, i had verizon and it roamed more than sprint did,, f...

Nextel has the lowest customer "churn" (customers who leave for other carrier) in the country (1.4%). That says a lot about the quality of Nextel's service. 😎

In response to:

Nextel has the lowest customer "churn" (customers who leave for other carrier) in the country (1.4%). That says a lot about the quality of Nextel's service.

The only reason for this was that 95+ % of the people that bought Nextel was for the direct connect. They would not switch because no other carrier had this feature. Who in their right mind would pay Nextels rates and prices for the phones if they didnt have to. Take into account that thousands and thousands of their customers were major companies of course they would have a low churn. It has nothing to do with quality, it has to do with an edge on the market. Now that Verizon and other companies are getting Push-to-Talk, look for that churn number to rise.

Nothinfun,

Just read your reply. I appreciated reading your comments and as everyone knows, the issues that you've had with Nextel are common to every carrier in the industry. Anyone who has been a cell phone user for a while can offer at least one bad story.

RCR just reported that Nextel has been awarded the best "Customer Satisfaction" scores of any carrier in the industry for the 3rd consecutive quarter this year. This reflects the customers total experience with Nextel and "ALL" factors including network quality are considered.

While it may be true that Nextel's excellent PTT service helps to keep a lot of customers from churning, it can be said that all carriers have something going on that either keeps or loses their custo...

Problems with the i730

Don’t bother getting this phone! I’ve had the phone for almost a year now and it has given me nothing but problems. The first problem I was when I switched from the i90 (a wonderful phone I may add) to the i730. I’ve had two i730s so far. The first one started to produce a problem since I use a headset most of the time. I don’t know if the headset cause the problem, but I could no longer use my handset to receive incoming and outgoing calls. The Service Center in Long Beach, California could not fix it, so they replaced it. Now, the one I currently own is not working properly. The phone will not ring when switched from vibrate to a tone sound. And the second problem is the speakerphone will not work. This ...

If you don't want the i730 I'll trade you my i90c with lights, ringtones, and a brand new case on it.
