Has anyone else found this happening for them. I think it is stupid that it would do this. Is this what it is suppose to do or is my Droid 2 defective?

I don't have that problem. I've had other quirky problems though, like the browser not remembering passwords, or the bluetooth not hooking up. Then I reboot the phone, and it works fine after that.

hit menu button > settings > wireless & networks > wifi settings > hit the menu button > advanced > wifi sleep policy > uncheck 'when screen turns off' and choose 'never when plugged' or 'never'.

the sleep when screen is off option is the default...meant to conserve the battery.

your issue will be resolved when you finally learnt o stop buying motorola products. They always have and always will be trash. Get the Samsung Fascinate if you are going to stay with Verizon Wireless. 😲
