Why Did Verizon Kill This Phone?

Did HTC refuse to allow them to brand this phone Droid?

I think HTC an Verizon intially had issues over what to name this device in the first place. It was going to be a low High end devicee for Verizon initially called the HTC Lexington. Rumors circulated around that it would then be the Droid Lexington. This was going to be HTC and Verizon's bread winner. With HTC not having an android pwered device that featured a slide-out qwerty keyboard on the VZW network, this was going to be a hit. Verizon intially delayed the release due to naming issues, then they didn't want the device, then they wanted it, then they couldn't get it tested by the FCC intime, when they did and by the time it was released it was obsolete.
