Using all 4 bands

Everyone knows that T-Mobile doesn't use the 850 band on the V600. But, how exactly does that work? Does the T-Mobile SIM card turn that band off? Is it the software that comes with the T-Mobile version of the V600? Will the V600 still use the 850 band if there aren't any T-Mobile towers around?

Basically, I'd like to be able to use all 4 bands while staying with T-Mobile. I'm wondering if getting an unlocked V600 and putting my T-Mobile SIM card in it will accomplish that.

No the phone doesn't work on all four bands at once.

In US, Cingular/AT&T work on 850/1900mhz while TMobile works only on 1900mhz. The 900 and 1800 mhz basically work everywhere else in the world. Also the 900 & 1800 mhz isn't available to be used here in the US for cellular.

TMobile has the software in the phone so it only picks up on the 1900 mhz.

Basically unlocking the phone only allows you to use other GSM carrier's SIM cards in your phone. That's it.
