How can I delete pre-installed pictures and tones?

I have hardly any memory left on my phone but I cannot delete the pictures and tones that the phone came pre-installed with. I mark them and select 'delete' it asks me if I am sure and then doesn't delete them. Can anyone help as I really need to free up some space on it and get rid of these?

There is a thread on HoFo about this- you should check it out. It's in the Motorola forum.

Essentially, the guy determined that making a fake, empty text file with the same name and extension is the key. After using Mobile Phone Tools to move it to the root directory on the V600, the V600 will recognize it as a corrupt file and allow you to delete it. Since you overwrite the original file they both get deleted. They have complete lists of all the movies, images, and animated GIFs so you can "clean it out" nicely.
