How long it takes to receive V600 from ATT?

I order my v600 on Sunday night 4/4. In my web order, I also requested to port my land line to ATT. Does anyone know usually how long it takes to get the phone as well as my land number to switched?

My current land line carrier is Cox Communications of Connecticut. This is the cable company for our area they also offer phone service.

Many thanks!

I received my phone within 48 hours. ATT sends it Fedex. You can call the 800# and ask them to get you the tracking number. As for the phone number change, I don't know.

I ordered the phone via AT&T web site on Sunday. I still have not received the phone yet. The only thing I've got is a Web order number. Tried to use the web order number to track the order but ATT web site only showed my order is "processing" and the last update date was Sunday - the time that I ordered the phone.

Called customer service but they weren't able to look up the order as it was a Web order.

I remember seeing someone posted recently about the fact that they got a FedEx number. Is there a phone number they can call to get that?

Also, I didn't get a detail order confirmation as to what phone I ordered and the calling plan options. Should I be getting that shortly after I placed the order?

I paid for it using my credit card. If for some reasons that I entered the wrong CC#, should they contact me? I'll just wait for 1 more day to see. Perhaps they have a back log.

I tried to call customer service using a few different numbers, they can't see the Web order. I just want to find a place I can get a real status of my order.

Perhaps I can post something at the ATTWS customer forum. I think they have ATT representive who can look up my order. According to their forum rules, they suggest you wait for 72 hours before posting for new orders.

Thanks.

If you guys would log on to federalexpress.com they will give you all the information you need. Call the 800 number and find your tracking number.

Finally, I got the right 800 number to talk to someone who knows what they are doing...took me 4-5 calls and bounce between several different departments.

Basically, when I tried to port my line number; they screw up on the port (they get used to do wireless numbers but not land lines). So, they can't ship me the phone.

Now that they realized what they have done, the v600 is in back order for 4-5 days. In order for them to process the port, I may actually lose phone service for 2 days before the new phone arrives.

I told them to forget the phone number transfer so that they can process my order. Once I finally get the phone (a week or more from now), I will initiate the port again.

What a pain...I'd never used ATTWS before. T...

Just so you know, if you don't have them port your number from the beginning, they may try to charge you a cancellation fee to cancel your AT&T number and bring your new one in. I had AT&T and Verizon. I bought the new phone, but wanted to port my Verizon number. They told me since I was already under contract I couldn't do it without first cancelling my service ($150) and then starting a new contract. I was extremely unhappy. If it wasn't for the phone I would have said screw it. As it is...I'm happy with the phone. It's actually my second (1st one had software issues). They sent me a replacement immediately, so I can say that AT&T's turnaround time is excellent. I started off with crappy customer service, but my dealings of late h...

Thanks for the information. I will check with CS to make sure I won't have to pay the fee to port over the number. It was their mistake to begin with...I think I can make my case even if they try to charge me.
