OS Question

What OS is currently running on the phone? I had the phone for about 3 weeks and then returned it but it was lagging doing anything. I've read several places online including here where you can get a leaked copy of the newer OS but what the official OS on the phone and whats available if anything?

The Eris is running 1.5 at the moment. I've heard rumors that it'll be updated to 2.1 before the end of April, but it'll definitely be updated sometime before the end of June.
