Just got it, and have questions
First can you set the outer display so it doesnt blink verizon wirless and only shows the time?
Second, can you change the tone and logo when the phone is powerd on and off?
If not it is going to have to go back!!

I just got one and have the same questions as you. I don't know the answer to either of those but have had the same concerns. I would have to agree...the power on and off thing...very annoying. Do you know anything about the question I posted right after yours about the backlighting. Mine does not dim...it completely shuts off. Normal???

As of now, you cannot change the power on/off screens/tones. The display/backlighting DOES turn of completely after a time, this is normal. I always hit one of the side buttons to turn it back on...
Also, you cannot change the blinking banner on the outer display as of yet.
Someone on Howardforums.com has figured out a bunch of hacks for this phone, I'll post the link tomorrow (I have it at work). You need a data cable which you can get off the net for somewhere between $20 and $50. Looks like he got mp3 ringers to work on it though, which is pretty cool!

I feel like an idiot, but I can't change my banner message. I can change the font and background color, but the msg won't change from "Verizon Wireless". Is this a Software bug?
