I have a question, has anyone else had there phone lock up more or crash after getting the new update? The ther day i shut my phone off and when i turned it back on it came up a black screen and a error message. Took it to verizion and they did a rset on it and a few days later it started acting up again. Sorry for the really long run on sentence....🙂

Did you install any new apps lately? My phone has been very stable since I put froyo on it, and my father's which is completely stock has had no real issues. is there any pattern to when you get the error?

I agree with Menno. You might want to check your apps. My wife and I both have droids, and neither of us had any issues. If one of the apps that you were running wasn't updated to run nice with froyo that might be what is causing your issues.

And the $1,000,000 question: why haven't you got a new phone yet, then?

There are reports, but mostly on the DroidX, that stuff left over from 2.1 was causing problems on 2.2.

the solution is to turn off the auto-restore feature of froyo, then wipe the device, then DO NOT sign back into your google account on first boot until you go back in and turn off the auto restore (since it defaults to on). After that, you can go back to the accounts page in settings, and log into your google account. All of your market purchases will be there, but you will have to download them manually. However, if the problem is caused by wierd leftover data in the update process, it will solve the problem.
