Extended Warranty Replacement

I have read on many other website that the Droid2 is being sent out as the replacement phone for the Droid. Has anyone had this happen for them?

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. My name is Tywanna and I received your email regarding the Motorola Droid replacement option. I can understand your concerns regarding the Droid replacements received by other individuals and I will be happy to assist you.

Mr. Klein, some customers may have received Droid 2's because at the time when they replaced their device, the Motorola Droid was unavailable. However, this has been resolved and the Motorola Droids are available. The customers that received the Droid 2's were experiencing issues around August 24, 2010. I apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

I rereceived a Droid 1 today and called to speak to a supervisor and after explaining the issues I have had with my last two phones, she ordered me a Droid 2. I should have it tomorrow or the next day. Horrah!

I have heard from some that they were sent a D2 for their D1. But I also have heard people just saying they are having issues with their phone just to get a free upgrade (not saying this is your case) only to get upset when they receive a refurbished D1.
