Anyone know? I tried the manual setup steps that were posted on Phandroid but they didn't work, Wi Fi off and all. For a workaround, I have saved the Yahoo mail login page as a bookmark, and created an icon on one of my home pages for it.

That's going to be pretty much up to Yahoo, I'd think.

Given that Yahoo and Google are competitors, and Yahoo and Microsoft are working on teaming up, and Google and Microsoft are also competitors, I'd say the odds fall somewhere between "not anytime soon" and "not in your lifetime"

If you are willing to pay yahoo their relatively nominal fee to get POP access to your yahoo mail, the problem goes away, as you can use the email client.

It should also be possible to set your yahoo mail to "bounce" to your gmail account, which you are going to have with your droid anyway, but I really haven't delved that far into it, as I prefer to keep my email accounts separate.

Not sure if this is the response that you are looking for, but it is possible to have you email available by just tapping the email icon.

When you set up your email, and you've entered the user name password or what not, you will see a field that says account type select IMAP, when you see incoming mail server or IMAP enter imap.mail.yahoo.com. And once you see outgoing mail server or SMTP, enter smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com and follow the rest of the prompts and this will get your yahoo emails to push through.

there is a way that you can bring your yahoo in without having to purchase the premium from yahoo.

2: Enter your Email address and Password
then select Next. (Yahoo! subscribers
must select the Manual setup option
then move to step 4.)

4: Select the type of email account.
(For Yahoo! Use IMAP. For other
accounts check with your email
provider-POP3 is the most common).

5: Enter your Incoming Server Settings.
Then select Next.
(Yahoo! subscribers use your Yahoo! Email
address for your user name, then your
Yahoo password.
Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 143
Security type: none)

6: Enter the Outgoing Server Settings.
Then select Next.*
(Yahoo! Subscribers:
Server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
For others ch...

As stated in my OP, I have tried this workaround and could not get it to work, I keep getting the error that my username and password are invalid after entering the incoming settings for imap, I cannot even get to the outgoing SMTP settings.
