OLED?

Whats the big difference between OLED or whats on the Hero now? 😳

They're both good, but OLED is more efficient, has a wider viewing angle, deeper blacks, and the colors look more vivid to most people.

An LCD - the kind of display in most phones, like the Hero - has a large white light behind it, that's at full brightness any time the display is on. Then the LCD layer in front of that filters the light, blocking it completely to create black areas, etc. That's not very efficient, and usually the black parts aren't totally black. It also relies on light-twisting polarization techniques, which cause it to fade when you look at it from an angle.

OLED displays are much simpler. They're simply a grid of dots that glow. Therefore black areas are simply "off", which means they use no power and it's complete...
