"Change Battery" Message

Have used the LG VX4400 for appox 18 months. About six weeks ago the battery life began to decrease and I started getting a "Change Battery" message. To avoid issues, I purchased an LG original equipment replacement battery. However, I am still having same battery life issues and getting same message. Any ideas re the problem and solution? Thanks.

The change battery message just means you need to charge it. I've had the 4400 for almost 2 years with the original battery and i've gotten that message from time to time, I usually get it after I've been talking for an extended period of time and the phone is hot. We use the 4400 at work and the battery started dying but that was because it got wet. You can check the battery by taking it out and in between the gold connectors ther is a small circle, if it's pink it means it got wet. should be white with red x's. If the phone got wet inside it won't matter if you get a new battery-you'll have to get a new phone.
