taping phone conversation

I have the env touch and i know you can record a conversation by holding the space bar down with the phone open. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to tell if it is recording or not.

Thats what I dont like,it doesnt show that your recording or when you stop it.My old Voyager let me know.
