Guy 1: "What iPhone is that?"
Guy 2: "This isn't the iPhone THIS is the Palm Pre!"
Guy 1: "I've never heard of the Palm Pre."
Guy 2: "That's because the iPhone 3GS came out before anyone heard of the Pre"
Guy 1: "Do you like it"
Guy 2:"ehh, I would rather have the 3GS but I bought into the hype that everyone was making about the Pre"
Guy 1: "Isn't that what you did with the Blackberry Storm too?"
Guy 2:"Don't remind me"

yes, because the iPhone 3Gs is such an innovative new phone that offers something no other phone can?!
Really, the difference between the Pre and the Storm is that
1. Palm has been doing touch screen phones forever.
2. the Pre is already being critically praised
3. the Pre isn't about the device itself it is about an OS, which will come to more phones which could improve upon what the Pre already did, unlike iPhone which only offers 1 phone type for its OS and not doing anything to make it more then just an iPod with a phone attached to it, where as the Pre and WebOS is great for both business users and regular users, as well as using the best service to download music MP3s Amazon...
Really, the difference between the Pre and the Storm is that

also apple had to release new software to make the iphone have some of the features that the pre already came standard with...still no multi tasking tho..........

Not just new software...they are on the 3rd new phone just to get the iphone to nearly the same point.

Palm Pre is greater than iPhone, 3G, 3G s or whatever they are calling it nowdays.
And it is definitely better than the BB Storm.
