Texting and GPS

Jun 21, 2009, 1:10 AM
So I am looking to replace my 8120 which has been pretty decent but has a few things I am not in love with. I want another Blackberry (Crackberry) and I want one with a full keyboard. I am tossing this one and the original Curve around and had two big questions.

With my Pearl I have occasional issues with text messages. I can send them and they go out just fine but then I go back into the texting app and they aren't showing up and the phone suddenly won't show me any coming in. When this happens the ONLY want to make it stop is to take the battery out and restart the phone. A friend has had a similar problem with his flip blackberry and I am wondering if this is a common problem with blackberries or if the 8900 is without this issue....

Sounds to me like your phone may either need an update to the software or updated service books. Blackberry's have a lot of fixes that are ota so if you go into your email setup icon and hit send service books it might fix that issue. If that doesn't work look for additional software upgrades on the blackberry website. This is true of all blackberry's 90% of the time if there is an issue with a phone it ends up being a software update.

I use a Blackberry Bold and use the GPS on it all the time. The 8900 is the same with better a better quality screen although slightly smaller. Every aspect of a handheld GPS is available with the navigator feature and with ota updates its extremely convenient too.
