Impressed by all the support, improvements, and upgrades provided by Verizon & RIM since last November? Being sarcastic, of course. One freaken upgrade and NOTHING from them! You have to wonder how and why people put up with this.

I'd like to believe it will be different with the Storm 2, but, after offering a little better hardware, and minuscule memory upgrade, expect the same ole, same ole, and an entire new generation of frustrated victims.

There will be mountains of Betas for that one, too! Like the Pied Piper...we'll follow your lead.... ๐Ÿ˜•

Hmm...RIM's Pied Piper ๐Ÿคฃ Well, I drink Kool Aid, work for Verizon and RIM and hate Apple too ๐Ÿคฃ (ok, none are true)

I did get my camera back in .230 and it seems to be pretty fast ๐Ÿ˜

Since you are the non-declared King of the hybrids, and before you take the Kool Aid, do you know of a version that will repair the following: Accelerometer takes 4-5 seconds; the lock button is flying at 5-6 seconds; an app such as AcceloDex fires up in 10 seconds; the phone locks up in mute and ruins 5 calls a day; the memory bleeds like a siv; re-boot starts with 7mb loss; the white screen comes on and does not respond to curse words..etc etc. etc.

Other than that, the Storm is great!

I need Hawkeye input....Is this phone covered under Obama's Health Scare plan? ๐Ÿคจ

I did hear that Obamas health scare plan includes a free blackberry if you take the government sponsored option which obviously means that Verizon will be put out of business. Verizon is charging $50 for the crazy things ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Who can compete with the government? ๐Ÿคฃ well al is not totally useless with these things. Check out elsewhere what kind of hell the new Pre update has caused...massive battery draining problems

What Os are you running?

I understand all those who take the Public Option on this phone will be shot at sundown if they infected their device with a non-official OS! By the way, the first day release of the Storm 2 will resemble the Health Scare lines of the near future, and the quality of the phone will mirror-image health-scare provisions. ๐Ÿคญ

I am a dinosaur with the OS....148. Hesitant to dl a hybrid because I have a great deal invested in Business Apps and have been a coward, fearing the need to Brick the phone and lose vital input. In other words, experimentation, as it relates to my apps can be extremely detrimental, so I live with the poor performance and the antiquated, lousy OS. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Forgot to mention.....homescreen to menu lag takes so lo...

I agree; in the same boat, putting up with crappy software 'cuz I loved the big screen and all it promised-hahaha. I'm due for an upgrade in Jan and if the reviews on the S2 aren't Boffo I'm seriously considering switching devices. That new HTC looks nice but I'd miss the BBMessanger, we use it all the time.

Have you tried 4.7.0.167? I've been running it for 4 weeks and It's very good. I haven't found anything that doesn't work and it's MUCH faster.

Lag is almost imperceptible. I only do a battery pull about once a week and that's usually just a precautionary measure.

Has anyone wondered why these hybrid fixes and better OS developments continue to be ignored by Verizon & RIM? In a year's time, all they can come up with is the pathetic .148?

This indifference is a "slap in the face" to all Storm owners, and an indication that customer service and improvement are the last considerations these suppliers are interested in. Certainly, they know there are better interactive ways to operate this device.

Does anyone believe its going to be any different with the release of the Storm 2? I, for one, have very little confidence in either of them. Business as usual will prevail and we can expect the same treatment to continue unabated..... ๐Ÿ˜ก

I was blown away when people started creating the hybrids in the first place. Pulling a good radio code from this OS and pieces of that and they had some good ones going ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Most of the leaks were older OS's and by the time someone got a hybrid put together I guess RIm was 10 steps ahead (or behind ๐Ÿคฃ )

.230 is the best 5.xx OS yet! Just had a couple of random boots and thats been it. It locks well, and changes orientation well.

As the eternal optimist in here ๐Ÿคฃ I am hoping that more memory, different tech on the screen, and WiFi will make all our complaints melt away.

{{{must have been in a dream when I was writing that ๐Ÿคฃ }}}

I've invested a lot of time and energy into my BB Storm. And for reasons mentioned previously on this forum, I feel a loyalty to my efforts to learn and navigate the many apps I've DL for this device.

But, I saw something today that might tarnish that devotion.

Look at this UTube on the HTC Pro 2 Verizon phone coming outin a few days.

The Storm 2 had better be a hell of a lot better than the bugged, glitch, weak performing phone we all own on this forum.

RIM...open your eyes, you've got some competition!!!! And some folks just might be Stormin over there!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Is the 5.0.0.230 a big improvement over the 4.7.0.167 and would you recommend switching?
