anyone else tired of hearing its comming just wait it can only get better itll be out soon when it comes to a phone that was supposed to be amazing and turned into a flop. i mean yes u can add all these leaked os's to ur phone to make it work better and everything but why in the world should we have to? so my storm is gone rim and verizon have let me down and im sure more then a few of you too. so i have sold my storm on ebay let it be someone elses nightmare of a phone i dont need it. whats the point of having the largest 3g coverage area if ur on a phone that lags might aswel be on a 2g phone that doesnt lag ull get the same results so good bye storm hopefully the storm 2 wont suck but regardless i wont be buying it. oh boy wifi like evero...

I'm perfectly fine with mine. Yeah it sucks that we have to wait, but wouldn't you rather have them release something that works good instead of releasing a bunch of crapola's? shouldn't have to patch a patch right? so i'll wait. not a big deal. course maybe its cause i'm not a whiner perhaps? lol.

YES i want a new OS. YES i'm getting tired of the slowness. But NO i'm not a whiney quitter that's gunna sell my storm for less than i paid so i can go back to some other phone. No way. I'm content with waiting.

Perhaps you should show them how its done eh? lol

I feel the first reader. I have the money now to turn my phone back on and I am considering giving it away.
Its not about being a whiner, its about Verizon releasing a phone and no true support for it. Sure its okay for most people who don't get over 50 emails per day. But it would be nice to have some good functionality with the sexy without the phone crashing.
Anyway, the main problem with the phone is that the app memory needs to be able access the memory card, that way it doesn't max out so quickly and the memory managemnt can work right.

actually i got a 100 more for the phone then i paid for it and used someone elses upgrade for it cause i was out of contract so i got rid of the headache of this phone did somethings work on it? sure but the phone should have been released without the bugs that it had we should have to wait 6 months for a phone to work right if verizon and rim really cared they would have made it happen and why has every other carrier world wide released an aditional patch for the phone except verizon? im not a whiner im just tired of sub standard performance from my phone and carrier i pay a decent amount every month for a phone that has issused i find a problem with that. if im paying for a service i want it done the way i want it. when they decided to giv...

I think this is coming soon by either third party or RIM. I remember reading a thread about it on Crackberry recently.

Also in some of the recent OS's that haven't leaked I have heard about a screen that pops up when memory is low giving you the option of deleting old programs or files

If you like a smart phone which is great for loading and running apps, and has the best screen on the market, unlike our disgruntled friend, you deal with the few annoyances and revel in the pro-aspects of this phone, clean and simple....

I agree with all u said except loading and running apps. But you know, some love it, some hate it.

I see your point. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. I've downloaded close to 60 apps and divided them for easy retrieval into logical folders. I also utilize a short cut app for convenience. Running the apps, however, make them subject to lag time and disruption in many instances.
What I enjoy about the phone is the large screen size and the relative ease with which to view what I'm looking at.

I load most of my apps off of email and allow permissions, so its not too tedious. In a general sense if you use this phone to make calls and run apps (I enjoy personal productivity utilities), then the limitations such as hunt and peck typing for text communication, take a secondary option of importance. 😳

Well said. Personally, I'll probably trade in my vzw storm and get the 9500 and put it on my att demo line. For my personal line i'll have the iphone. lol

i got the iphone once i got rid of the storm. best choice i ever made. far better for what i needed every 15 minutes it goes and retrives my emails i dont NEED to have my emails instantly 15 minutes is fine with me so for me it does everything the storm does but better. it cant do mms yet but the update coming will make it do it plus the apps for the phone that are out there are amazing i put 30 apps on it the first day all of them free and no removable battery who cares when u dont have to pull the battery all the time like the storm and i never buy a backup battery so its fine with me if u are in the same boat as me drop the storm and get an iphone u wont regret it

I'll have to agree.

The phone does what I want it to do. Although I still don't feel like this phone has lived up to its full potential yet, it has come a long way since it's introduction.

The fact that we shouldn't have to deal with unofficial or leaked OS's is irrelevant to me. They are there and available which to me is more important.

In 2 years with my Palm, I saw 1 major update which fixed little. There are problems with many phones out there. There is no perfect phone yet 😁

Reviews of several phones mentioned in this thread on this site currently:
Storm 3.5
iphone at 3.71
iphone 3g at 3.78
Curves on any network and Bolds with physical keyboards are rated a lot higher.

Lots of gripes about the iphone as well as the Storm.

The iphone has been around about 1 1/2 years longer than the Storm. I expect the iphone to have more apps and be a more polished product. It's more established in the marketplace.

For me the iphone would be a poor choice because it doesn't put business users first. You can adapt it for business, but it's not at its best doing that.

It's all in what you use the phone for. For ...

what about the Samsung Omnia. I was really on the fence with this and the storm. I went with the storm and now I have to do battery pulls at least twice a day. I am running .109 and I have the iVista 2 theme and my phone just goes to **** when I try to use the video camera any suggestions HawkeyeOC

Some of the operating systems had problems with the cameras. You could try to upgrade to .113 I have done 1 battery pull in the last few weeks and that was just because I felt it was running a little slower. It wasn't a forced battery pull.

The Omnia uses a WinMo 6.1 OS at it's core with an easier to use interface on top of it. Not the easiest to use consumer phone out there but it seems to ...

HawkeyeOC you make good sense! Props to ya! The update will happen and there will be people that regret giving up on this phone. I personally love it and the os update is only gonna make it better and yes there is an update coming! I have mentioned in this forum my buddy is a tech at my local verizon store and I just talked to him again and it was scheduled to come out about a week or two ago but verizon is making sure they get it right. Shouldn't be much longer, but like I said I enjoy my Storm!
