Congrats on your purchase John. Now prepare yourself for a tumultuous love affair.

The Storm will love you, break your heart and win you back...all in one day.

I am a certified crackberry addict and when it working right my Storm is more important to me than the air I breath, lol.

But like all relationships....there are a few moments you wanna just chuck the thing.

Welcome to the addiction brother.

The first taste is free....

I've only had it for 2 days now, but I'm still loving the Storm.
I'm only running the .75 firmware, didnt even load the .90 firmware yet.
But its actually running fine to me.

I have been able to install
Google Maps,
Opera Mini,
FaceBook
VZ Nav

Also I have loaded a bunch of MP3, Mp4 videos and some pics onto th 8gb Micro SDHC card it came with. I see a 16gb card on Amazon for 48$
I may pick one up. I already ordered a RIM OEM made car charger from CellularAccessory.com

I must say I cant put the phone down, I may still be in the honeymoon phase with it.
But I am really getting into it.
Ive been using WinMo 5 and 6 (Q and Q9M) since 2006, I cant believe I never switched to Blackberry earlier.

Once I have this phone for...

Keep learning it, you will love it even more. There will be frustration, trust me on that.
Phone is very good now and will be even better in the future. The review score has reached the 3.50 mark. I would expect the naysayers to start plastering it again to bring the numbers down. My long term forecast for this phone is that it will be rated higher then the Iphone.

I agree.
I'm a tech support guy.
So anything I run into, I keep digging till I figure it out, whatever I cant figure out I search this forum for, or Crackberry forums.
Or google it.

I've been able to get my music, videos, pics and some apps on here, I am very impressed.
I would have liked wi-fi, but that would have also made the battery die fast. I'll take battery life over anything else.
The screen is super sharp, and its pretty responsive too. This phone is replacing my ipod, and possibly my TomTom. Instead of 3 gadgets, I can carry one.
The Storm continues to impress me.

I personally found this phone to suck back in November when I had to set 2 up for people at work here, they both returned it the same week they got it. Firmwa...

RIM I guess has never paid this much attention to any one product is has made.

To me it just shows that they are committed to getting it right and not forgetting about it.

By the way, I would guess that lack of wifi was more an issue of too many radios or frequencies put into this phone. If they didn't build the Storm to be a "world phone" that can be used overseas they would have had more room to add wifi.

There are 7 frequencies already in the Storm (2 CDMA, 4 GSM, and 1 WCDMA)

Yup, just like I predicted! As soon as the Storm gets a little loving, the naysayers can't help themselves with the low scores on their reviews that they come up with after 5 minutes with the phone.

For all of the newbies to this type of forum, be careful when you read this stuff. There are times when people don't want phones to succeed. It's an interesting habit but I think that seeing this over the years, I just have learned to ignore it. You can see the serious reviews are given with much more thought then the naysayers.

I'll bet my last dollor that when the Storm gets its final build and everything is working great, the naysayers will go ballistic! Misery loves company and there are many former Storm users who have given up ...

It's especially entertaining to watch when they create an account the same day they write their one and only review and then vanish just as quickly 🤣
