Is anybody else having these issues??

When I first got the phone, it was awful - rebooting all the time and very slow.

I've since updated to the latest Verizon release (4.7.0.75) and I am stilling finding:

- The phone reboots all by itself. It seems to like to do it right when I'm in the middle of something (e-mail, phone call, etc.) or sometimes when it's just sitting there. I can only imagine how many times it's rebooting while I'm not looking.

- Everybody tells me they can't hear me well when I use the handset. When I plug in the ear-piece, it's much clearer.

So far, I'm on my 3rd Storm (have had the first two replaced). Is anybody else finding that version .75 still suffers from reboots and bad voice quality? I know there is a leaked v .85. Will it fix e...

I feel your pain. I am on my 4th Storm and want to love this device. My Storm will flash that I have a message then the screen is non resposive and shuts off on its own. I hear the 18th there should be another software update. I too am getting very frustrating.

.85 fixes some issues but overall I think .75 is a little more stable.
Sorry to hear you are having the problems

Thanks HawkeyeOC -
Can you be more specific with regard to the exact issues that .85 fixes? Most important to me are:

- Still rebooting by itself after .75 update
- Poor outbound voice quality on handset (resolved when using wired ear-piece)
- Auto-on / Auto-off causes phone to come back-up with "Radio-Off" (even when battery life is nearly 50%). Must manually turn radio back on
- Relatively poor battery life and slow speed
- Once browser has been double tapped to zoom, difficulty selecting links or text (even single taps result in further zooming)
- Unable to lock phone in dial-pad mode (must exit back to main screen / menu to lock

and its pretty nice. my phone doesnt reset, at least it hasnt yet. initial install, froze after booting, did battery pull and its fine now.

audio still sucks, i think it has to do with the echo and noise reduction.

battery life still sucks, though i think this is a phone dependent issue (my phone, not useing it, has 8 hours standby, yeah i said STANDBY.) (note: battery sucked with .75 too)

my browser is fine, u just have to highlight the link then click.

i cant lock in dial mode either.

i dont use auto on/off, so i cant comment there.

the major thing i like about .85 is when the screen is locked it actually is locked, and only pushing physical keys will make it light up (if you click the screen nothing happens).

i would ...

is these damn aftermarket micro usb chargers. i work indirectly for vzw, and forgot my home charger (pretty bad i gotta bring the damn charger with me). my phone died, and i plugged it in, using a home and car/adapter. the phone says charging, but after a min or 2 the touchscreen stops working and only physical buttons work. i pulled the battery, then plugged back in and same problem (i did this 3 times). now i took off the charger and rebooted, and it works fine.

all i can say is grrrrrrr

I agree with a prior comment that HawkeyeOC is a real authority and helpful regarding the Storm and the various issues/updates. I am still having my storm indicate a message is there and then be nonresponsive and require it to be powered on. This is my 4th one and I want to enjoy this device. I'm almost at the point of going back to my Curve.

Guys, come on. I think some of you are starting to get a bit spoiled/lazy and relying to much on The Hawk. Don't get me wrong. I've read alot of The Hawk's post and found them very helpful (thanks Hawk), but if you all would just do a little research and stop making The Hawk do it for all you, you to could become as knowledgeable (ok maybe not as much as The Hawk) on the Storm. THANKS HAWK!

Thanks for the 2 cents worth. I have done research on my own but have come to the board to see if others are having a similar experience. Hawk typically has a lot of insightful info to provide. That's all I'm saying. I don't need anyone else to do my research or anything else for me.

Always glad to help if I can! The larger Blackberry sites have a LOT of info to search through and it can be very difficult and frustrating to find answers sometimes.

It does pay to ask around and see what people think
