Charging - Syncing options

I have not yet purchased this phone, but I am almost ready to. I have a question for anyone that owns (or has owned one). What does the charger look like? The reason I am asking is that I travel constantly and need to be able to charge the phone without lugging along the whole charging/syncing base.

A friend just bought the Motorola Smartphone an it has a USB cable that can be used to sync and/or charge with his laptop while traveling. That would be the ideal situation for me.

So what are my options with the Samsung i600 for syncing and charging? I have been unable to find any accessories anywhere for this phone, including Samsung's own site.

Bob

Bob,

Glad to hear you are hopefully going to be a fellow proud i600 owner.

I have owned the i600 for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I realize not everyone feels the same way I do about it, and everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I think it is by far the most amazing device I have ever owned.

Anyway to answer your questions, the i600 comes with a travel charger that is then typically pluged into the active sync cradle so the device can be charged and accessed via active sync at the same time. The cradle also has a second slot in which an additional back-up battery can be charged at the same time.

While many people use the cradle/charger combination, the charger can be used by itself and pluged directly in...

Thank you, thank you. that was the greatest reply you could have sent. I really appreciate the detaield explanation and links to the cable that I will no doubt want.

It is also good to hear an enthusiastic owner talk about what looks like a wonderful device.

How quickly does this device charge the phone when plugged into the USB port? It seems like it would be slower than going to an outlet.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a nice cable and I have already ordered one because Verizon seems unable to send extra cables out...I have had one or order since I got my phone a month ago and they still can't give me a date when I will get the cable.

I just received this cable and it is a really nice product. I recommend anyone who has the i600 buy this. It is very small and seems to be very well built. I am still trying to find out if the charging is as fast through the USB port as it is when plugged into the wall, but it really doesn't matter because the form factor of this cable is soooo convenient that even if the charging takes longer...it won't matter to me.
