Hey I have a G1 and I am bummed that the screen doesn't flip when I turn the phone. So, do you think updates will come that will allow that? I want it to flip autmatically when on the internet, viewing pictures, etc.

Also, shouldn't it be pretty easy for a third party to make a video capture application? I can't wait for that.

only time will tell...just like developers are in the works on making a touchscreen keyboard for the phone...im sure somebody has already thought of it and might be holding off until they can make money off of it...as for the internet, you can manually swith the orientation in the settings if you want the webpage to be inverted

Opening the keyboard is the switch. It does have an accelerometer, so it's possible Google will make it automatic (or at least make that an option) in a future update.

Not necessarily. That's something that would probably require specific API support. I doubt it's there, or someone would have done it by now.

Thanks Rich. Yeah, opening the screen switches the screen orientation, but it's STUPID that the accelerometer is not used for this. Don't people want to browse the web in landscape mode with the keyboard closed? I understand it can be flipped manually, but hitting Menu > More > Flip Orientation is annoying when I should be able to simply turn my phone. Seriously, this is unacceptable Google/HTC/T-mobile!

I had heard a rumor that after the first of the year there are going to be a lot more applications. Evidently until then only free apps can be downloaded, after that the ones you pay for will be accessible.
