E71 or Bold

Jun 24, 2008, 8:38 PM
I'm a Nokia man but I really like the Blackberry Bold especially the larger screen size than the E71. I'm also concerned about those Blackberry "black-outs". Can someone do a comparison....I'm a little torn. Rolling Eyes

The new Bold is bigger just like the 8800. Nothing like the Curve which was small.

Yep. The Bold is massive compared to the E71.

I had thought about rolling with the E71 as an upgrade to my E62. But the Bold is strong competitor. I like the bigger screen too, although i think the E71 will display more colors. Besides the screen and phone size there isn't much of a difference. I think the Bold has better quality speakers

I am waiting to see both of these phones up close and personal. My only real issue with the BB devices and to many here it may seem stupid is there is no native IRC client for the BB software. Others have other deal breakers on phones which would be irrelevant to me.

I also see CTI of Miami has the E71 NAM version in stock and ready for sale for like $468 (forgot the exact amount).

I've read a couple of sources that say the Bold is having software and overheating issues. I almost went out and got an Iphone cause I couldn't wait any longer( I'm still rocking an E62!) My mind is set on the E71 now.

Well, a huge plus for the E71 is that it has a 3.2 megapixel camera as opposed to the Bold's 2.0 megapixel camera, and also, I just learned that the E71 can record video at 30 frames per second!!!! That is awesome. Just like the N95 and N82.
And the fact that I hear the battery in the E71 lasts a long time. It also has a proven operating system.
