Back a few months ago there was a mix in the FCC that had 1700 mentioned, is it coming?

An E71, are you sure? I didn't see it.

That's wildly inaccurate.

The phone with FCC ID PYARM-407 does not support the AWS band. That's an E71 with WCDMA 850 for Australia.

Then that was a typo in that one document. That's not uncommon. That's not the place where it matters.

That's one thing I've learned in my 8+ years of scouring FCC documents. You have to know where to look for what. Look in the wrong place, and you're bound to see tons of info that is completely, totally incorrect. For any one bit of info, there's only one place the FCC looks to check for accuracy. In any other spot, it's usually text just copied-and-pasted from the previous phone they submitted for approval.

Who? 😕

The E71 with FCC ID PYARM-407 never has and never will support AWS.

The entire thought of an E71 with AWS appears to be nothing more than a rumor started by someone who mis-interpreted an FCC document.

Nokia never announced or mentioned an E71 with AWS, and no info has appeared on the FCC that proves such a device is or was ever planned.

With that said, could Nokia be working on such a phone? Sure, it's possible, but I have yet to see or hear any evidence of such a device.

Very disappointing that no word on a nationwide launch of 3G by T-Mobile, and no OEM dedicating their 3G high end phones for T-Mobile.

There's no confusion as far as I'm concerned. I've been following FCC approvals for almost a decade, so I know where to look for what.

What you're looking at doesn't matter. It's definitely a mistake.

The only place it matters is here:

https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/fcc_query.php?gc=P ... »

...and here:

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/tcb/reports/Tcb731Gr ... »

...and there is no listing for the 1700 band in either place.

So once again, please trust me when I say that the E71 variant with FCC ID PYARM-407 does not support AWS.

Could Nokia be planning an E71 with AWS? Sure, it's possible in theory. But what you're looking at in tha...

According to Nokia's website, they do not list it w/ a 1700Mhz config. So my guess at the time would be 'no'.
