had a problem with not having a signal with the iphone, I just got new iphone and I went to this bar with some friends that I have always had a signal with any other phone that I had with at&t, in fact my friends had there phones with them and they all had a good signal, they had a moto KRZR K1 att branded and a Nokia something also att branded and my iphone said no servie the hole night. I returned it for a new one since it was only a week old and they gave my another brand new one in the box and we went back this weekend and the same thing. I had no service and they all did, and it is not just at that bar, it has happened at my house to. side by side with there phones with a good signal and my with no service.

i actually dropped signal as soon as i left the store with my iphone. i drove about a mile with no signal. one thing i noticed is that the signal is very shaky on the edge of 3g and edge coverage. if on a call in a 3g area and move to a non 3g area the phone dropped. i know its not the network because i've had a moto q, tilt and the sync and all keeps a signal in this area. i like the phone but i am tired of all of the dropped calls. i had the phone for a week and dropped about 5-8 calls a day. the phone might go back until they work out the signal issue.

I've read somewhere that there where some issue with the 3G chip drivers(the cause of the dropped calls) theres supposed to be a fix out there now, until they can correct the issue on the phones before they are distributed. This issue is supposed to be fixed within the next 2 - 3 months. Link to the story below.
