I currently have the iphone but have to say i am disappointed that the 3g iphone will not let me send picture mail to my friends phones (who can't access their email!)....

this phone should do both.....its fun to be out doing something and receive a message right away with a picture....email does not allow that.....i'm an apple fan, use an imac, ipod etc...but maybe its time to consider the blackberry thunder?

i'm not trying to start an argument but if this phone had MMS and video i would be in line on the 11th.....

knowing me since i'm a name brand person i'll probably still get it and hope the NEXT iphone had video and MMS......

Try this please... just be certain to scale the image down to 640 x 480. I think that is necessary due to MMS format.

MMS can be done with the iphone email appl to any MMS capable phone by attaching the photo and sending to ATTcellnumber@mms.att.net

Can sent to tmobile, verizon etc see

Likewise have your friends send MMS to your iphone email appl.

That link doesn't work. Also, does anybody believe there will be a 3rd party app that might do this?

Here are the address to send an MMS to any phone from email or iphone email appl. Just pay attention to the image size. MMS can be limited to 640 x 480.

Alltel = xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com
AT&T = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net
Boost Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@myboostmobile.com
Einstein PCS = xxxxxxxxxx@einsteinmms.com
Sprint = xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net
US Cellular = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.uscc.net
Verizon Wireless = xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com
Virgin Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com

It works. I tried it with ATT.

I understand about sending pics with the e-mail. But it's getting the pics and then having to go on the internet. Oh don't forget the back and forth of trying to remember the username and password. It's just really annoying. I hope their might be a solution found in the new app store. I miss sending and getting pics without jumping through hoops. 😢

It is no harder than sending a MMS from a phone. Usernames and passwords are normally stored in the phone.

Or you could just send apps natively from the 3G iPhone.
