MORTFE

Apple does what Apple wants. I watched keynote which stated 'we listened to what the consumer wants'. Total BS. If so, where is MMS, A2DP and voice dialing? They are only looking to compete on the BUSINESS end and screw everybody else. Not asking for the world - just basic features that even a $29 phone has. Blackberry has all this and more. I have always owned a mac & thought Steve was a genius - but he is becoming a total ass***e.
Apple is even screwing up updates to the mac now. My last iPhone update cost me my bluetooth and Apple replaced phone immediately.

Some consumers would want that. Hypothetically speaking, I wouldn't give a damn about MMS on a device with full-fledged email. I would be unlikely to use Bluetooth to listen to music (the main reason for having A2DP) as wired headsets work just fine for that. A2DP seems like a wonderful way to burn the battery faster though. Voice Dial would be nice, but could potentially be added via software update. In any case, it's not a deal breaker for me.

I'm not sure wether or not I'll buy one, but it's a sure bet lots of folks will. Some of them admittedly will be sheep, but most of the folks I've run into who like it seem to like it for what it is than what any ad campaign ever told them.

Ill tell you I won't buy the phone I don't have att but these features are basic features a phone of this price and “caliber” should have. A phone with a camera and no mms, uhhh am I missing something?

Hell they should sell the I phone on Sprint they don't support MMS on their smart phones that would be a perfect match.

i think they just figure "why mms when you have email", but 99% of my friends don't even USE email anymore. It's all text & mms.

Steve needs to get a big reality check here.

Well see that is the beauty of statistics is that 60% of it is made up on the spot, and studying Statistics so many times in gaining my Psych Degree and Business Degree (that my eyes want to bleed now), i highly doubt that because "99% of your friends" don't use email, that means that the rest of us are just like you.

I am PERSONALLY tired of MMS, and tired of inconsistency. Yet at least email I get a better chance of sending something.

wah wah wah.

no really, out of 100 of my friends, I only regularly email one. My dad. That's it. If I want to contact someone, I text or call.

Wow, why would you include your dad as your friend.

Okay but that is texting and calling someone. what does that have to do with MMS and emailing?

and if you are going to insult someone, please try and not make them laugh.

My dad's always been more of a friend than a "dad". Sorry you can't grasp that.

What I'm saying in Lamen's Terms is that just about everyone I know would rather get a text or pic message from my phone than an email. Email is basically obsolete from most of my friends regular schedules. If they do check, it's about once a day. Texts and Pic messages, however, are there and checked instantly.

You're calling him a gaywad for using email while you text like a high school girl? e-mail is corporate America and if you use it right on your phone it can save you money on texting. Shoot.

Don't be an R-Tard.

texting is the new email. live with that. it's checked more than email. I don't work for corporate america, nor would I care to.

I hear you, I would LOVE for everyone to drop texting plans in favor of having a full PDA phone with constant Email access, but guess what? I don't control the market. The populous does that.

I am assuming as the trend grows for emailing capabilities, MMS will be pushed out. If the phones start becoming more and more like iphones and Blackberry and other smartphones, they won't waste their time with software with regards to MMS, especially if you can email it.

Chainmail----heres the thing, most people have a phone that you cannot easily send an email with. Unless you have a smart phone, you are going to be sending mms. Also unless someone has email synced the pic message will be instant!!! MMS does make a difference and a phone of this caliber should support it.

Yes but as I said in response to the young and inept chainmail, the trend is leaning towards sending things by email and not by MMS. MMS is such crude form of sending message anyways just as Text messages are, except Text messages or more widely used.

But if phones realize that more and more people are using phones with email capabilites then they will cut out MMS. Why would you have both? especially since no one can prove that MMS is better than email.

Yes. You're missing that you can send pictures by actual email, apparently.

I agree with the MMS comment. I prefer sending it via email because I have found too many times that it did not get to its destination.

Usually I just take a picture and send it via email on my phone and then forward it if i don't already have their address handy. The MMS thing has never been that big of a deal to me. Even on a Blackberry i send it via email.

sounds like you should get a blackberry and stop complaing about what the iphone doesnt have...and all of what you mentioned will be donwnloadable shortly...i agree sucks it doenst come pre installed but alot of ppl didnt wnat alot of stuff like video recording on their phones...takes to much space. Steve is actually listening to what consumers want and will allow all these features (if you choose to) to be downloaded so if you cnt wait get a blackberry.
