setting MP3s for ringtones?

Hi,

I just got one of these phones and I've been trying to move my set of MP3 ringtones to it.
I tried using bitpim, which supports this model, found a /ringtones folder, converted and copied my file there. However, after the phone is rebooted, it doesn't seem to find my files.

What's the story? If they tried to block people from using personal ringtones to force us to pay, this baby is going back before its 30 day tryout period ends! At $150, it should allow personal MP3s as ringtones... people invest lots of time creating their tones...

thanks for any tips!

Strange. I used bitpim and was able to transfer my mp3 ringtones without a problem. Are you sure you have the latest version of bitpim? If it's been a while since you downloaded, you may want to re-download. Otherwise, I don't know what to say. Maybe a defective phone?

Good luck.

If this happens, go to the Edit pull down of Bitpim and select Settings, then select Phone Wizard button and just select Choco 3. This seems to work, and I haven't had to plug and replug the USB.

Of course, you have to save all your favorite songs into about 130Kb size in mp3 files before you can copy them into Bitpim (i.e., select only those parts of the song you like. Use Wavepad which is a free program you can download to edit songs). Once you've copied the songs into Bitpim and transferred them onto the phone, you can select ...
