coming out around same time as 3G iPhone

I have been waiting for the Verizon Curve for ever. Recently I purchased my wife an iPod touch and have to say the user interface, and functionality is exceptional.

The VZ Curve is coming out right around the same time as the new 3G iPhone. I will evaluate both before deciding to go with one or the other. I bet many others will do the same.

BROWN27, I couldn't have said it better myself. VERY overrated.

yep...my mom has an iphone and I have had a chance to use it pretty extensively. Its a cool phone...but there are other options out there that are more functional

And call me when the iphone gets a real keyboard...then I will look at switching!

Who would switch to AT&T for the iphone? Doesn't even compare to a blackberry. And supposedly BB is working on a touch screen phone to keep up with the masses...

You CDMA'ers are a joke, this phone or one similar to it has been out on AT&T for quite sometime.

You guys jump up and down like two morons at an idiot festival at a phone type that has been out for GSM for near a year.

You are correct, this phone has been out for ATT and Tmobile for quite some time now, but it doesn't change the fact that it is one of the best phones on the market right now. And it adds 3G speeds for tethering, Video Recording, and Streaming Video, that it's GSM counterparts don't have.

We jump up and down because although we "CDMA people" get the phones later, at least on our network the phones work and they work EVERY TIME.

You guys are dilusional. PS curve is a little overrated, the plastic casing is cheapo. Also, Verizon's network is far from perfect, saying it works every time is ridiculous.

Yeah I know what it looks and feels like, I've had plenty of time to admire it from afar, remember? And next time someone wants to "borrow" my phone because they don't have service...which is like every day in my world...I'll try and remember how inferior Verizon's coverage is 🤣

If the PS Curve is so overrated, why does it sell so well for ATT and Tmobile? And no one said that Verizon's network is perfect, we are saying that, as far as we are concerned, it is the best. And if you need more opinions, check J D Power's and Consumer's Digest, who both rate Verizon as the best network amongst the national carriers. If that's not enough for you, check the churn numbers amongst the national carriers for the past 7 years, and tell me who the obvious clear leader in having the fewest customers leaving them each quarter is.

Actually a lot of customers left Sprint, Tmobile, Verizon, and some of the smaller carriers just for the Iphone. Heck, I even bought one, on a separate line. The advertising for the Iphone was among the best that I've seen for any electronic device, and it created a frenzy in customers. Now, I don't agree with it, and when it comes down to it, the Iphone isn't as functional IMO to a blackberry, especially the Curve, which is why I sold my Iphone, and now I'm awaiting the Curve for Verizon. I had the Curve for another carrier, and I loved it.

Yes, I agree with you, I know a lot of people who left for the iPhone THEN, what I meant is now knowing what we all know about the iphone, who would jump ship for it now? The 3G may turn out to be phenomenal, but I think more people will this time take a "wait and see" attitude. And I would be curious to know what your experience was with AT&T? Did you experience dropped calls, poor service? Any customer serviced issues?

All of the above and a whole lot more. However, for pure call quality, to be fair, the Iphone itself just isn't as good as other AT&T phones in my opinion. And as far as just call quality/dropped calls, etc, ATT comes in at a close second to Verizon Wireless in my experiences. The other issues that sway me to VZW are ability to have insurance on ANY wireless device that I purchase from them, superior customer service, and just other features that I use on a day to day basis that suit me. Many people complain about not having full bluetooth with Verizon, or not having a customizable UI. However, those people don't get built-in Voice Activated GPS like Verizon has on the majority of their devices. They don't get backup assistant for free...

The iPhone and Blackberry are for two different markets, for push mail and business use, and at this present time, I would say Blackberry is better. To play with and have fun, I would say iPhone.

What I would like to see, is the new BlackBerry 9000, the photo's of it looks sweet, and supports AT&T's HSDPA network.

BB 9000 is coming and its going to be big. Its the next model for the Curve and I will be looking to get it which means my 8310 will be obsolete.

Actually the BB9000 is the 8800/8700 replacement as I was told by RIM.

I think youre right because of the keypad on the 9000 its more like the 8800 than the 8300, which is a bad keyboard. I also saw a camera on the 9000 which is not on the 8800.

Good questions. But, you will notice that it's much closer to the 8800 series in size, and the keyboard is very similar. The only thing that it shares with the Curve is the camera. But, again, great point because the 8800 series doesn't have a camera.

I have to say this, and from posts you've seen of mine, I'm not exactly CDMA friendly, but I saw a Sprint photo of this phone, I have to admit, its the nicest looking of any of the carriers that carry any flavor of the Curve.

Maybe there's hope for Sprint, I sure hope so.
