TEXTING

Is it hard to get used to texting on a touch screen? I am contemplating this phone or a blackberry but both require me to text on a touch screen.

I was worried about the same thing. This is my first touch-screen and I wasn't sure if I'd like it or be sorry I chose it. I absolutely LOVE this phone. I am not a "power texter" like my son, but I do send probably 15 or so per day on average. I have no problem at all texting on the Dare. The QWERTY keyboard (in landscape mode) is awesome. I have average sized hands so that probably helps. If you have big fat fingers you might have a little more trouble. Go to a store with a functioning display model and try it out. It's easy to get used to. Scrolling took me a day or so to master but it's easy now.

I agree with Matt a. I am a 6'2" guy with large hands and was skeptical about the landscape virtual keyboard. I tried it out in the store and it was hard to use, but I got it anyway. I have had the dare for a week or so and got used to the screen. I do only 8-10 texts a day, but have no trouble. I used a stylus to calibrate the touch screen and that seemed to help.
