What is the accelerometer for?
If you drop the phone Verizon will be able to tell cause the acceleormeter saves any sudden movement? Or will it tell me how fast my car goes 0-60 in?

OK- maybe you're being a smartass, but I'll assume this is an honest question.
The "accelerometer" doesn't measure speed, it measures phone orientation. It turns the display from portrait to landscape mode automatically when you rotate the device horizontally or vertically. The GPS/navigator would be used to check your speed in a car if you wanted to do that.
