Will this ever see a US 3G version? Nokia has been warming up to the US lately.

It seems the trend from Nokia over the past year is to put more and more 3g phones out for the North American carriers (AT&T and Rogers). I can see in the future, that this phone and the e90 will support the 850/1900 umts/hsdpa radios. Then again, I wouldn't hold my breath, and its doubtful if they will come out for the the above mentioned carriers but will be sold by Nokia and other online resellers.

Can you direct us to where you heard this info? I would like to read too. I am thinking about getting an N82 but if there is going to be a NAM 3g version, then I will wait for that one.

The 3G N95s are the test. If they do not sell enough of those they won't release the N82 for US 3G.

You have to realize the way the Carriers operate here, they have seduced the public into free and subsidized phones. Most of us don't buy unlocked phones on month to month contracts.

I bought the European N82 and do not miss 3G. My wifes 6126 has 3G and I don't find it that much faster to even consider the N95 with 3G for the same price. The wiFi is plenty fast and plenty available as well. The GPS does not have to use the network if y...

Have any of you used the n82 in the States? It's not clear where some of you are from. I'm interested in using the n82 on an AT&T GSM network in the U.S. and wondering if it will work. The AT&T store sales guys couldn't give me a clear answer. Many thanks!

Of course it will work, it's a quad band gsm phone. You won't get 3g data, but you will get edge. That data part is up to you if you miss it or not. To me its important, to others it isn't. I do have a N95-3 and wish they had a NAM version of the N82, it is a wonderful phone.

Luckily since I'm with Tmobile, EDGE will be just fine for me. Looking forward to getting my N82 next week.
