Clearing VM icon...

Ok...i know this should be pretty self-explanatory, but it's not...how do you clear the VM icon? Yes, i've listened to the VM...in fact, in an effort to clear it, i've erased every VM i had saved...Still won't go away.

I've looked all through the user manual and in the "help" section on the actual phone. there is no way (that i can find) to clear this icon!

PS-it looks like a little tape...that IS the VM icon, right? If it's not, what is it and how do i make it go away? TIA!! 😎

Try pulling the battery while the BB is on.

This is a common problem with most carriers regardless of the phone you use. It's typically not the phone but how you use your email. Most poeple listen to their messages and just hang up after. One result of this is the "sticking" vm indicator. Try accessing your Voicemail and pressing * to exit vm. Wait for the system to disconnect you instead of pressing end.

I don't know much about the technical cause of this other than when you exit properly it essentially resets your voicemail and you will find the icon will no longer "stick".

Are you sure it worked, maybe I should call you and leave a voicemail to make sure. 🤣

Another way is to go into your message icon section and clear the missed call. Just open it as if you would a message and the voice mail icon also disappears (obviously if you listened to your messages).

Just FYI...
The problem she was having is actually not with the phone but in the Voicemail system. Even if you listen to your messages and you erase them but always exit by pressing end and not by pressing * to exit the voicemail system the system will continue to communicate to your phone that you have a message even when there is not. Even clearing the messages in the phone will not remedy this problem. It's actually a problem in most carriers systems as well its not unique to Verizon.
