Some pre-purchase questions

I had a few questions on the Curve, before I make the switch?

  • Is there a feature in the profiles which allows you to restrict which numbers ring verses sending to vmail (private). I make use of this on nights/weekends and don't want to have to turn the phone off to all (aka Groups for Nokia).

  • If you leave the Wi-Fi on, does it cause a major battery drain? If so, is there a quick switch to turn on/off?

  • When using the Wi-Fi and TMO @home, what rates do you get charged for International calling? This is the only reason I still have a land line.

    Thanks,
    Iain.

    1. Yes.. there is a program called iBerry Black and White List. It will restrict called from a list and/or private ones and/or ones you add to a list... has more features... but the simple answer to your Q is yes.

2.I have wifi on all day long and it doesn't even come close to draiing the battery. Now if you were on a windows mobile device it would kill the battery. I bet you came from a windows mobile device, thus your concern... But don't hesitate.. I use a crap load of minutes and I usa UMA all day long... Still have a ton of bat life left over at the end of the day.

    3. HSAH is GREAT! I use it at work on their wifi and the calls are crystal clear. I am not sure about the international rates, you may want to check out their webstie ...
