I am torn between the 2. I want to receive my e-mails from aol and I know Blackberry is great for that but the Voyager has more sex appeal. Any opinions on which to choose?

If email is of big concern, no device does email better than blackberries. If internet browsing on the phone is a big concern, also, the blackberry. But, otherwise, I'd go with the Voyager.

I have owned both of these phones. I got the Pearl the day it was released, and then exchanged it for the Voyager the day it was released. Why? Because I always think the grass is greener on the other side.

Nothing beats Blackberry for email. The Pearl was only the 2nd Blackberry I owned. I had the Curve (with Tmobile) for about a month before that. But on the other hand, I've always loved LGs. In the past 6 months, I've also owned the LG 8700, Samsung U740, Razr 2, LG Chocolate 2.0.

Here are my thoughts about both phones:

Pearl:

Pros
I totally understand why people call them Crackberrys. They are totally addictive, all-in-one devices. Emails work flawlessly and you get everything real-time. From your contacts list, yo...

Hands down, the PEARL. I own one and couldn't be happier. I was lured by the Voyager, had one in my hands for a few hours and ran as quick as I could back to the Pearl.

Simply said, the Pearl does it ALL and does it well!

Pearl is nice but I gave up on mine. The Voyager is the better overall phone.

Yeah like stated previously, it all comes down to what features are most important to you. Yes, the Pearl is a PDA and has full email capability of course. The Voyager does have some email capability and also appeals the younger adults like myself. I am 23 and I can't wait to buy it. For me, I do basic email including Yahoo and school email but that's it. For me the Voyager is perfect, but for you you might benefit from the Pearl.

I had the 8130 for a few days and only returned it because I didn't want to pay for the data plan. The 8130 and the 8330 are both fantastic phones. The screens are unbelievable as they adjust to the light in the sun are still easy to read. Again. if you could buy a BB without a data plan that is all I would ever own.

That said, the Voyager is the best phone I have seen in some time for someone like me.

I'm having the same dilemma. Pearl or Voyager...
maybe this is a stupid question...does the $29.99 Blackberry Web & Email package include unlimited internet usage? Or is it still charged by MB?

Yes. The problem is there are no packages that also include messaging or navigator or any other options VZ cast or any other options you may want. It also doesn't support TV if that ever comes to your area. So those are the trade offs you face.

I agree. I am a big dude at 6'4" and although I love the pearls size and want to receive e-mails, I am concerned about the key size.

Keys are definitely small. They are wide, but very skinny up and down. I found it hard to dial by touch. Also, if you don't like SureType then this is not the phone for you.

Have you tried using both phones at the store? That's the only way you'll know for sure which one you like, at least appearance wise and feel in the hand. I really liked the small size of the Pearl and although I never used SureType, I was loving it within about a week.
